CU Grow Hosts Last Procurement Event of 2021

October 18, 2021

The CU Grow Vendor Development program hosted its fourth and final procurement event of 2021 on October 14th, bringing together the program’s current 19 participating firms and alumni of the program to meet with project managers and procurement representatives from Columbia University Facilities & Operations (CUFO) and partner organizations to discuss potential contracting opportunities and MWBE resources.

Project managers from CUFO’s Manhattanville Development Group, Residential Operations, and Campus Operations presented on upcoming opportunities available for bidding, joined by a presentation from Accounts Payable with information on how to submit invoices as a university vendor.

The CU Grow participants also learned about how to apply for capital loans, including what the different phases of the loan process are and how they work from partner presenters Executive Director Nancy Karin and Senior Program Manager Katie Parks from BOC Capital.

The event concluded with breakout sessions, allowing participants to network virtually with each presenter and ask questions to better align their business capabilities for available contracting opportunities.

The CU Grow Program is currently recruiting for its sixth cohort, which will begin in February 2022. To learn more about the program offerings and how to apply, complete the interest form and visit cugrow.columbia.edu.
