CU Grow's First Procurement Event of 2019

The CU Grow Vendor Development program hosted their first procurement event of 2019, convening the programs’ alumni and vendor participants, other procurement staff, and partner organizations to discuss potential contracting opportunities. Procurement events provide a space for minority-, women- and locally owned (MWL) businesses to network with representatives from Columbia University Facilities & Operations leadership and to discuss business opportunities.

Presenters at this event included:

  • David Greenberg, executive vice president of Columbia University Facilities & operations, discusses the University's commitment to MWLBE vendors and their impact.
  • Kenroy Watson, CU Grow Alumni, shares his experience and discusses how implementing new processes learned through the CU Grow curriculum have had a significant impact on his business.
  • Rapahel Lynch, director of maintenance and trade services of Campus Operations, and Don Niccoli,  assistant director of Columbia University Planning & Capital Project Management, presented contracting opportunities within the University's State of Good Repairs and Residential Construction departments.
  • Nancy Carin, Executive Director of BOC Capital Group, informed the audience of the availability of mobilization loans that can support MWLBE vendors to pursue larger contracts, specifically with Columbia University.
