During the last week of August and first week of September, departments in Columbia University Facilities and Operations welcomed back graduate and undergraduate residential students to campus.

On Sunday, August 29, Columbia greeted the class of 2025. Public Safety supported safe arrival as 1,500 students arrived to campus on a beautiful sunny morning. Later in the week, the skies turned gray but our team was still all smiles as we helped students settle into campus.

During the week of August 29, Columbia Housing orchestrated First-Year Check-In to the undergraduate residence halls, followed by Transfer and Combined Plan students, then Sophomores, and finally ending the week with Upperclass Check-In. Meanwhile, Columbia Mail processed a record number of packages, including many deliveries made straight to the student's residence hall room prior to their arrival.

Members of the Operations team helped to ensure the grounds were clean and clear for students moving into campus.

Columbia Dining hosted family welcome and NSOP meals on Hamilton Lawn throughout the week. Thanks to Events Administration for facilitating the many tents on campus for students to eat and socialize. Meanwhile Event Management continued to provide catering deliveries for school orientations and activities.
