Marcelo Velez Presents at Virtual Higher Education Construction Forum

Conference brought together leaders in higher education construction in NYC in midst of coronavirus pandemic

March 25, 2020

On March 25, Commercial Observer held a half-day virtual conference for its fourth annual Higher Education Construction forum on the future of higher education development on the East Coast and how the COVID-19 global pandemic will force universities across the country to re-evaluate their construction goals. Key facilities directors and influential decision makers from the region’s top universities discussed how spaces are planned, designed and used in regard to both campus life and academic instruction.

Marcelo Velez, vice president for Manhattanville Development at Columbia University, presented the conference’s closing keynote on how the University is creating a new model for a 21st century urban campus at Manhattanville.
