Morningside Campus Annual Chilled Water Shutdown Notice

The 2012 Annual Campus Chilled Water Shutdown is scheduled for

Thursday, December 27th, 2012 and Friday, December 28th, 2012.

This shutdown is necessary to facilitate needed repairs and maintenance on the chilled water system that cannot be performed during normal operations.  This shutdown will also accommodate new construction activities required for the next phase of the Central Chilled Water Plant Expansion.

Shutdown activities will begin at 12AM Thursday morning, 12/27, and continue through Friday 12/28 with service being restored by approximately 2AM Saturday morning, 12/29.

Construction and repair activities will be performed in mechanical spaces and will therefore not be visible to most staff and visitors. Facilities Operations will make every effort to maintain normal building temperatures but specific cooling, including process cooling systems for labs and data centers that rely on campus chilled water will not be available during the Chilled Water Shutdown. It is recommended that all related temperature sensitive operations and equipment be shut down for the duration of the Campus Chilled Water Shutdown.
