2017 Public Safety Award Recipients Go Above and Beyond to Keep Campus Safe

On March 2, 2017, the Columbia University Department of Public Safety held its annual Promotion, Awards & Recognition Ceremony at Low Library to honor members of the University community whose talent and dedication help make Columbia's campuses safe.

In addition to the promotions of 17 Public Safety personnel for outstanding service and recognition of 21 Public Safety personnel for perfect attendance - highlighted by Security Officer Michael Layne who has not missed a day of work in 16 years - four Facilities and Operations staff members received Exceptional Service Awards.
