This June, Columbia University Facilities and Operations (CUFO) staff members who have 25 years or more of service to Columbia University gathered along with staff from across the University for the Twenty-Five Year Club Reception at the Roone Arledge Auditorium in Alfred Lerner Hall.

The Twenty-Five Year Club was established in 1954 by the Advisory Committee on Non-Academic Personnel Policy to recognize employees who have provided twenty-five years of service to the University. Over 1,000 employees — including faculty, officers, and support staff from all departments, schools, and campuses — are part of the Twenty-Five Year Club, including 213 new members inducted this June.

One of this year’s new members is JoEllen Bagayoko, CUFO’s Assistant Director of Administrative Services for the Manhattanville Development Group. She’s seen the Manhattanville campus unfold from concept to reality.

“I take great pride in my contributions over the past 25 years towards the development of its complex building design and construction,” JoEllen said. “I'm most passionate when leading tours, highlighting the extraordinary interdisciplinary research and public programming taking place on this new campus that benefits society and addresses global challenges.”

In addition to joining the Twenty-Five Year Club this year, JoEllen has also used her extensive knowledge of Columbia to support new staff as inaugural co-chair of CUFO’s New Hire Employee Resource Group.

This year’s Twenty-Five Year Club Reception was organized by the Office of the President with Columbia University Event Management providing decor and catering.
