CUFO Supports Back-to-School Supply Drive and Block Party for Students in Upper Manhattan

September 09, 2025

The NYPD 26th Precinct’s Community Affairs division and Manhattan Community Board 9 teamed up with Columbia Community Services (CCS) and Columbia Facilities and Operations-led departments – Public Safety, the Office of Equity and Inclusion’s Black, African American, and Carribean Employee Resource Group, and Construction Business Initiatives – to collect school supplies for students in the local community. Together, they celebrated the start of the academic year and equipped students with essential school supplies at the 10th Annual Back-2-School Event.

This free and family-friendly block party featured school supply giveaways, safety information and resources, music, balloon animals, bounce houses, and more. Columbia University Facilities and Operations coordinated donations of hundreds of school supply items including backpacks, binders, glue sticks, pens, pencils, paper, and more.
