CUFO HR hosted 24 workshops on a variety of topics including workplace well-being, effective use of technology, people management skills, and understanding Columbia benefits. In recognition of the 24/7 operations, these workshops were staggered from the early morning to late evening to provide more access to employees regardless of their shift schedule. Overall, 74 staff members attended one or more of the workshops, and the team hopes to further expand participation at its next Professional Development week in January 2027.
Tapping into CUFO’s internal expertise, many of the professional development sessions were led by CUFO staff members. Members of the CUFO Information Technology team led sessions on “Integrating Copilot at Work” and “Everyday Tips for Teams & Outlook Success.” Additional sessions focused on emotional intelligence, public speaking, people management, recruitment and interviewing, onboarding, and strategies to improve well-being at work.
“These workshops are an essential component of every CUFO employee’s personal and professional development within the organization, and we will continue to commit and offer them with as much access as we can for all to be able to attend,” said Annette Lopes, assistant vice president of CUFO HR.
Most participants in the Summer Professional Development Week (77 percent) were attending their first professional development opportunity with CUFO HR. The human resources team hopes to build on the expanded participation throughout the year and boost engagement through new and existing programs.
