On Thursday, October 1, 2009 Louis Coletti, president and CEO of the Building Trades Employers' Association, spoke with approximately 20 qualified vendors and Construction Certificate/Mentorship Program mentees in the Jerome Greene Law School about the benefits and challenges of operating a union firm.
Coletti's presentation was a component of the certificate/mentorship program, which helps minority-, women- and locally-owned (MWL) business enterprises build capacity and earn contracting opportunities at the University. Eighteen businesses, currently certified with the city as minority- or women-owned, entered the one-year pilot program in 2008.
