Columbia’s Mentorship Program Connects MWL Firms to Opportunities with Corporate Partners

On February 27th, 20 minority-, women- and locally-owned (MWL) construction firms from the Columbia University/Corporate Alliance Program MWL Construction Trades Management Certificate/Mentorship Program had the opportunity to network with prime contractors and project managers and learn about potential contracting opportunities at Con Edison, a subsidiary of Consolidated Edison, Inc., one of the largest investor-owned energy companies in the world. The construction mentorship program, formed in 2008, has graduated professionals from 53 firms that have garnered more than $60 million in construction trades work with the city and Columbia.
