On Thursday, February 25, 2011, Columbia University Facilities held an information session on summer construction opportunities for minority-, women-, and locally-owned (MWL) construction firms that are qualified to work with the University. Approximately 40 MWL firms gathered at Columbia University's Morningside campus, where Facilities Vice President for Operations Frank Martino, Associate Vice President for Capital Project Management Joe Mannino, and Associate Vice President of Manhattanville Development Group Marcelo Velez presented information on bid opportunities for summer projects. After the presentation, each business owner was given an opportunity to meet one-on-one with Facilities' project managers.  Above: Associate Vice President for Construction Business Services and Communications La-Verna Fountain shares information about the University's MWL Certificate/Mentorship Program with event attendees.
