On February 21st, over 200 representatives from certified minority-, women- or locally-owned construction firms attended an information session on summer 2012 construction projects at Columbia University. Attendees learned about the construction-related work that will be bid for the summer, vendor requirements, and also got an opportunity to network with Facilities project managers who will issue the requests for bids. Facilities departments represented included Capital Project Management, Campus and Residential Operations, Real Estate, Exteriors and Historic Preservation, Manhattanville Development, and Project Administration. The NYC Department of Small Business Services was also on hand to discuss the business assistance services they provide.
