July 22, 2026

Columbia University will be hosting the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) this summer at its Manhattanville campus.

NHANES is an annual survey sponsored by the National Center for Health Statistics conducts that measures the health and nutrition of adults and children across the United States. Participation in the survey is by invitation only and limited to approximately 600 Manhattan households.

The NHANES Mobile Exam Center will be located on the northeast corner of W. 131st Street and 12th Avenue through the end of September 2026 to provide health exams for eligible participants. Columbia University is providing the space for NHANES to conduct the survey at no cost.

Sponsored by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) through the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), NHANES has collected data since 1960 on critical health concerns, such as obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Survey data is used to produce national baseline information, design health programs, and develop public health policies.
