A Second, Local-Vendor Pop-Up Market Comes to Columbia University Retail Space

Vendors offering handcrafted jewelry, clothing, accessories and more bring their products to Morningside Heights September 28 and 29 in space provided by Columbia

September 27, 2019

The Pop Up Collective, a new local vendor pop-up market, is coming to Morningside Heights at the former Liberty House space, 2878 Broadway (southeast corner of 112th Street and Broadway), on Saturday and Sunday September 28 and 29 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

The Collective was formed by the Fe Project in collaboration with The NYC Fair Trade Coalition, gathering designers, makers and artists to share their work at space provided by Columbia University rent-free.  The Pop-Up Collective follows on the heels of the monthly Uptown Artisanal Pop-Up in the same space.

Cindy Godoy, Founder of Fe Project, is part of the Uptown Artisanal Pop-Up.  After taking part in the monthly pop-up and hearing the feedback from local residents, it was only natural to want to share the experience and expand the opportunity with other small businesses.

Cindy is excited to be working alongside such great organizations again “to create a space for businesses to thrive and to enrich the community, thanks to Columbia.  We hope to continue The Pop Up Collective for as long as possible and to continue to present great work to residents in the area while helping local small businesses thrive!”

“The Pop Up Collective is a win-win opportunity, bringing the offerings of these unique vendors to the Morningside Heights community,” said Shari Colburn, Vice President of Real Estate. “Columbia is proud to support these businesses and opportunities like the Pop Up Collective and Uptown Artisanal so we can continue to bring innovative retail experiences to the community.”

  • Nidasii - Organic skincare products
  • Black Snapper Design - Handmade leather accessories and jewelry (crafted from unsold leather items from local thrift shops)
