This fall, 14 Columbia staff members from CUFO, Columbia Health, and the Office of Alumni Relations & Development will be matched with a dedicated mentor to support their professional growth. The three departments are partnering to pilot a 1:1 mentorship program that includes monthly meetings between mentors and mentees throughout the course of the 2025-2026 Academic Year.
Participants will learn about Columbia’s professional development resources, gain access to a more expansive network of Columbia professionals, develop career goals and receive monthly feedback on their progress. Within CUFO, the Office of Equity and Inclusion has taken the lead in programmatic planning and identifying the mentors and mentees who are participating in the pilot. By beginning with a small first cohort, the participating departments hope to refine this mentorship program as much as possible before expanding it to additional staff.
