As part of the annual Back to School Supply Drive hosted by the West Harlem Development Corporation, the NYPD 26th Precinct, and the Manhattan Community Board 9, Facilities and Operations-led departments -- Public Safety and Construction Business Initiatives – teamed up with Columbia Community Services (CCS) to collect school supplies for students in the local community.
More than 600 students from Upper Manhattan received backpacks filled with supplies including books, pens, pencils, rulers, crayons, notebooks, backpacks, calculators, binders, and folders to help them prepare for the 2023-24 school year. The event also featured family programming and other community resources to celebrate a new school year safely. With Facilities and Operations’ support, the event also featured free food, face painting, and hair braiding.
