Facilities and Operations Delivers Pre-Thanksgiving Meals to Local Seniors

November 29, 2022

Columbia University Facilities and Operations (CUFO) joined with partners to deliver 150 pre-packed Thanksgiving meals on November 22 to five local senior homes in Harlem, including the Grant Houses Community Center, 3333 Broadway Apartments, PSS Manhattanville Senior Houses, Canaan Senior Service Center and Riverstone Senior Life Services.

"This Thanksgiving season we are grateful to be able to continue this cherished annual tradition that helps so many in our local community," says Thomas Carroll, assistant vice president of Manhattanville Operations.

This is the fifth year CUFO has joined other community partners to provide a pre-Thanksgiving feast for local seniors. With the help of Columbia’s Manhattanville Operations, Construction Business Initiatives and Skanska USA, a construction management company that recently completed renovations at the Manhattanville Campus, the meals prepared by Chef Nick Swain from Riverside Caterers were safely delivered to the senior homes. In addition, CUFO also helped to coordinate the delivery of soup donations sponsored by Skanska USA to four additional neighborhood senior centers including, ARC XVI Senior Center, Canaan Senior Center, Beatrice Lewis Senior Center, and Bethune Neighborhood Senior Center.
