New Mediterranean Restaurant, Elysian Fields Café, Opens in Morningside Heights

Elysian Fields Café, a restaurant serving rustic Mediterranean cuisine and tapas, is the latest eatery to join Morningside Heights. 

Located at 1207 Amsterdam Avenue between 119th and 120th streets, Elysian Fields Café offers a menu including kebabs, souvlaki, gyros, raw oysters, grilled vegetables, and air fries.  Elysian Fields Café also serves craft beer, cocktails, and features a wine-by-the-glass program.  A second, lower library room housing an extensive wine collection can be scheduled for private events.  Hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday until 11:00 p.m.

The restaurant is operated by the Kellari Hospitality Group, which also manages New York restaurants ‘Cesca, Kellari Taverna, Petit Poulet, and Lefkes. 

Columbia University owns and manages retail space across the Morningside and Manhattanville campuses, and its long-standing approach to its retail tenants favors local businesses, like Elysian Fields, that bring a variety of amenities and experiences to the diverse Columbia community, the wider local community and visitors.

Elysian Fields joins University Hardware and Housewares, Sliced, H-Mart, and e’s BAR as other Columbia University retail tenants to have recently opened in the Morningside Heights neighborhood.
