U-Bar and Grill, a woman-owned casual restaurant, has signed a lease with Columbia University to open a location in Morningside Heights.
Located at 1207 Amsterdam Avenue between (119th and 120th streets), U-Bar and Grill will feature a casual bar and restaurant setting. The owner also manages Inwood Bar and Grill in upper Manhattan.
The signing of U-Bar and Grill is consistent with Columbia University’s long-standing retail approach which favors local businesses that bring a variety of amenities and experiences to the diverse Columbia community and surrounding neighborhood.
Winick Realty Group brokered the deal on behalf of Columbia, while U-Bar and Grill was self-represented.
The restaurant will join several other local businesses that have recently opened or signed leases in Columbia buildings in Morningside Heights and Manhattanville, including Haji’s, Upside Pizza, Softside Ice Cream, Universal Taco, Oasis Jimma Juice Bar, HIIT The Deck, and Method Collective.
U-Bar and Grill is anticipated to open in Spring 2025.
