Upside Pizza, a local pizzeria recently named by the New York Times as one of the top 25 best pizza places in New York City, is the latest restaurant to join Columbia University’s retail lineup in Morningside Heights.
Located at 2878A Broadway, Upside Pizza is known for its high-quality ingredients and commitment to perfecting the New York-style pizza slice. Options for the pizza, which is made with freshly-made mozzarella cheese and natural fermented dough, include cheese, pepperoni, mushroom, spicy vodka, Sicilian pepperoni pies, and more. Upside Pizza’s Morningside location marks their fifth location in New York City.
Softside, Upside Pizza’s sister concept, will accompany Upside Pizza in the space and will open at a later date. Its menu will feature a variety of soft-serve ice cream flavors such as chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and pistachio and dipped sauces.
The opening of Upside Pizza is consistent with Columbia University’s long-standing retail approach which favors local businesses that bring a variety of amenities and experiences to the diverse Columbia community and surrounding neighborhood. Upside Pizza joins several other local businesses that have recently opened in Columbia buildings in Morningside Heights and Manhattanville, including Haji’s Deli, HIIT The Deck, Method Collective, Ban Ban Shop, and YES.
