Ban Ban Shop, a new Southeast Asian restaurant under the culinary direction of Michelin star chef Nils Noren, is the latest Columbia University retail tenant to open in Morningside Heights.
Located at 2911 Broadway (between 113th and 114th Streets), Ban Ban Shop will offer customizable Bahn Mi sandwiches, Bao buns, grain bowls, salads, and maki rolls with vegan and gluten-free options. Their menu also includes chicken noodle soup, kimchee slaw, roasted seasonal vegetables, as well as house-made drinks such as iced Vietnamese coffee, blood orange lemonade, and mint-honey iced green tea.
The opening of Ban Ban Shop is consistent with Columbia University’s long-standing retail approach which favors local businesses that bring a variety of amenities and experiences to the diverse Columbia community and surrounding neighborhood. Ban Ban Shop joins several other local businesses that have recently opened in Columbia buildings in Morningside Heights and Manhattanville, including YES, Sapp's Restaurant, Loco Coco, Trudy's Ice Cream, Oliva Tapas, and Manhattanville Market.
