Blue Bottle Coffee Coming to Morningside Heights

After the successful move of University Hardware and Housewares across Broadway last summer, Blue Bottle Coffee, has signed a lease in the former Housewares space. 

Blue Bottle operates cafes popular in other university neighborhoods such as Harvard, MIT, Georgetown and NYU, and in select cities in the United States and Asia.  The location at 2901 Broadway in Morningside Heights will join 16 other locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Blue Bottle Coffee is known for its commitment to sourcing and roasting the best coffee available. Through strong relationships with coffee farmers worldwide and a professional roastery team specializing in green coffee, Blue Bottle is able to deliver drinks including single origins, pour over, espresso, New Orleans Iced Coffee, Cold Brew and Cascara Fizz. Blue Bottle also offers a suite of culinary offerings to guests to pair with their coffee, including pastries and viennoiserie from Bouchon Bakery.

Columbia University owns and manages retail space across the Morningside and Manhattanville campuses, bringing businesses like Blue Bottle Coffee that offer a variety of amenities and experiences to the Columbia campus, the wider local community and visitors.  Blue Bottle Coffee will join several other businesses that have recently opened or signed leases in Columbia buildings in Morningside Heights and Manhattanville, including Hex & Co., Dear Mama CoffeeDos Torosthe ExpatElysian Fields Café, and Wu and Nussbaum.

Jones Lang LaSalle’s Amy Zhen, Davie Berke, Claire Smith, and Patrick Smith represented Columbia, and Marc Frankel of Newmark Knight Frank represented Blue Bottle Coffee for the lease signing.

The new Blue Bottle location is expected to open early Spring 2020.
