Five residence halls across Columbia University's Morningside and Irving Medical Center campus in northern Manhattan have been made available to doctors and other healthcare workers so they can avoid long commutes and the risk of infecting others.

Many Columbia retail tenants near the Morningside, Manhattanville, and Irving Medical Center campuses have modified their service and remain open to fulfill takeout and delivery orders. We are providing a list of Columbia tenants that have informed us that they are open and providing service during this time.

Conference brought together leaders in higher education construction in NYC in midst of coronavirus pandemic

Due to COVID-19, only essential personnel are required to be physically present on campus. Earlier this week, all academic and administrative buildings on the Morningside campus with card-reader-only access were set to weekend access.

In response to the COVID-19 crisis, the University decides to offer two months of free rent to qualifying local businesses.

The CU Grow: Vendor Development Program launched its 2020 cohort on February 19 with a matching ceremony that introduced executives of 21 minority-, women-, and locally owned (MWL) firms to their dedicated coaches that they will work with over the next nine months of the program. 

Using the architect’s original plan as a guide, the Capital Project Management team led a two-year restoration project that earned the New York Landmarks Conservancy’s highest honors for excellence in preservation.

On February 19, Columbia Dining hosted its third annual “Food Fight” event as part of the Battle of the Dining Halls, an epic cook-off between the University’s three residential dining halls

Each year, Facilities and Operations utilizes winter break to perform a significant amount of projects across the University, many that could only have been completed when the campus is less populated.  This winter break was no different, with Facilities and Operations completing a wide range of projects at the Morningside campus, including grounds improvements, classroom upgrades, and public space refreshes. 

Dos Toros Taqueria, a fast-casual restaurant known for NorCal–inspired Taqueria cuisine, is the latest Columbia University retail tenant to open its doors.  Patrons can celebrate the opening with Dos Toros and receive a $5 burrito today (February 12) at their new location during the times of 11:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
