As part of its commitment to supporting minority-, woman-, and locally-owned (MWL) businesses, Columbia University has donated new HP all-in-one printers to 75 MWL businesses and local non-profit organizations.

The Department of Public Safety, along with Facilities and Operations' Construction Business Initiatives and Columbia Community Service, is proud to support the 9th Annual Back-2-School community event hosted by the NYPD 26th Precinct Community Affairs along with Manhattan Community Board 9, by collecting school supplies and distributing them to local students on Wednesday, August 28.

You may have seen the tents on the Morningside and Manhattanville campuses earlier this month. Maybe you even participated by donating clothing, recycling electronics, or rehoming a used book or two. But do you know the history of Clean + Go Green and how the event contributes to Columbia’s sustainability goals?

Clean + Go Green is back at the Morningside and Manhattanville campuses on Wednesday, July 10 through Friday, July 12.  Donate your unwanted items to create more space and help the environment.

Congratulations to nine of our Facilities and Operations colleagues who have successfully completed their degrees this academic year while balancing the demands of a full-time job for their intellectual and professional development. 

Similar to previous years, a significant number of projects will take place across the Morningside and Manhattanville campuses, including residence hall upgrades, façade safety repairs, grounds improvements, and more. 

Universal Taco, a new restaurant featuring inventive tacos reflecting cuisines from around the world, has opened in West Harlem at Columbia University’s Manhattanville campus for lunch, dinner and late-night service.

In honor of Earth Month, the Office of Sustainability is proud to share with you the impactful work underway across the University to reduce our environmental impact under Plan 2030.
