Columbia Facilities and Operations joined the Ascend Regional Program: NY | NJ | LI, a business development program aimed at directing new opportunities to Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs), as a Founding Regional Opportunity Partner. Launched in 2021 by the national initiative of Ascend, the program brings together Opportunity Partners and MBEs to connect market-ready firms owned by people of color to new contracting opportunities.

Facilities and Operations’ Tanya Pope was recognized as one of Crain’s New York Business’s 2022 Notable Black Leaders and Executives for sourcing diverse vendors for Columbia and leading programs for minority-owned, woman-owned, and locally owned business enterprises (MWLBEs) and residents, including the CU Grow Vendor Development Program.

Facilities and Operations joins our campus partners in celebrating Black History Month and honoring the achievements of Black Americans.  

Related to the issue of public transportation and your personal safety, Public Safety presents Safety and Security Tips for Public Transportation including practical steps you can take to protect yourself, as well as an update on resources provided by the University.

The CU Grow: Vendor Development Program welcomed 21 new firms at its matching ceremony in February, launching the program's sixth year supporting minority-, women- and locally owned (MWL) businesses in strategizing their business growth.

Consistent with the changes to COVID-19 campus policies and procedures surrounding gatherings that were recently announced, we will be making changes related to the outdoor tents on campus.

Columbia Business School moves into new home at Manhattanville campus

The United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship presented its Minority and Women Entrepreneurship Practitioner of the Year SIG Award to Tanya Pope, Assistant Vice President for University Supplier Diversity at Columbia, the highest recognition given to a practitioner that has demonstrated extraordinary work with minority and/or women's entrepreneurship programs or people.  

The Harlem Community Newspaper (HCN) profiled the Columbia University Facilities and Operations-led CU Grow Vendor Development Program, highlighting the program’s impact over the years in creating and expanding opportunities for Minority-, Women- and Locally owned businesses.
